Terms of Service

Decree is professional software for licensed attorneys and their staff. We are not your lawyer; using Decree does not create an attorney-client relationship, and nothing in the product is legal advice. The attorney using Decree remains responsible for reviewing every calculation and form before relying on it or filing it.

You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure. Organization administrators control membership and data access within their tenant. You are responsible for activity under your account.

Don't use Decree to violate the law, court rules, or third-party rights; don't upload data you have no right to process; don't attempt to access another organization's data or probe the service's security.

Paid plans are billed per seat through Stripe, monthly or annually, at the rates shown on our pricing page. Your firm's first subscription starts with a 14-day free trial; no credit card is required to start. If your firm re-subscribes after canceling, there is no second trial — a card is required and billing starts right away. When an administrator adds or removes a member, the seat count and invoice adjust automatically, prorated on the next invoice.

Prices exclude applicable sales tax, which is calculated and collected at checkout (including Washington sales tax). The child-support calculator is included in every plan.

You own your matter data and documents. You grant us a limited license to process them solely to operate the service. While your firm has application access, you can download supported court forms as Word documents, export property schedules as CSV or Excel, and download uploaded files. Decree does not currently provide an automated whole-firm export; contact support to discuss the available scope and delivery method for a broader request. Some plans include AI document extraction, subject to a monthly usage allowance — currently 100 documents per seat per calendar month, pooled across your firm. The allowance is a hard cap: a document counts against it when its extraction starts, and when the allowance is used up, extraction pauses until the next month — we do not bill overages. Your firm's usage and limit are shown in Settings → Billing. AI output is a suggestion, not advice: extracted values must be reviewed by a person before they are applied to a matter or included in a filing. Decree stores proposed results for that review. We send selected documents to our configured AI provider only when you request extraction, and Decree does not use your matter data to train its own models. Under the providers' standard commercial API settings, inputs and outputs are not used for model training by default, but a provider account holder may be able to opt into data sharing or model improvement; provider safety logging and legal exceptions may also apply.

Calculations and generated forms are tools, provided "as is." Statutes, schedules, and pattern forms change; verify outputs against current law before filing. AI-extracted values are suggestions that require human review.

To the maximum extent permitted by Washington law, our total liability arising out of these terms or the service is capped at the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, and neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for — you keep full access until then, and no further invoices are issued. We do not issue automatic partial refunds for unused time; plan downgrades and removed seats are instead credited pro rata against your next invoice. If something went wrong on our side, write to support@decree.legal and we will make it right. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. After cancellation, data is retained and deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.

These terms are governed by Washington law. Any dispute arising out of these terms or the service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington, and each party consents to venue there.

We may update these terms as the product and the law evolve. We will give notice of material changes by email or in the product before they take effect; continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
